SUNDIRECT was founded in 2017 by Franz Grueter with a simple goal in mind: Utilize solar energy most directly and efficiently at the point of solar ray contact, compliment this with a back up energy source, and have available a battery pack storing that energy.

This approach in effect is a “technology shift” doing on a small scale what our power companies are doing now on a large scale.

SUNDIRECT’s novel approach to harness, generate and store energy on this small scale will create a different kind of infrastructure – a grid-independent power infrastructure that can build an entire new world, a better world for all of us – and all electric: cars, airplanes, mobile living, even permanent living, all will become simpler, cleaner, greener ways of travelling and living.

Electromobility increasingly affects our lives and how we live and work like never before. Especially Electromobility into the world of aircraft provides limitless, global opportunities.

The technology of the series hybrid electric drive is one of the key factors to make Electromobility possible for air travel. The other two contributing key factors to use Electromobility in the air are the advances in battery storage technology and computer technology.

To take Electromobility for air travel to its full potential, other important factors also come into play: the machine itself, the source of energy on board, and the load the machine will carry.

For air travel, a machine has to be light and strong. (Just like a bird) The source and type of energy on board sets the limits for the machine to perform its proper functioning: the length of time the machine can stay in the air and safely land. Part of the load might be used to boost the machine’s performance.

Why do the big boys such as Airbus, Tesla, Google, Uber, Amazon, and every car company in the world, all also aim at Electromobility in the air as the future way of travel? Because individual air travelling is possible. Affordable air travel for all those who today travel by car is possible. While there are no limits in designs for those “future aircrafts,” or, “flying cars,” one undisputable fact is this: there will be no runways for those aircrafts and flying cars: the vehicles that will dominate the future will take off vertical – fly on wings – and land vertical, or they hover.

At the core of this enterprise rests a heat absorbing / power generating system capable of around the clock power generation. It is a grid-independent power generating plant capable of delivering 50kW / hour continuous. The device is called: “Solar Fuel Receiving Reactor Generator” or SORRG.

The “Constant Variable Sun Factor” (CVSF) dictates SORRG’s design principles to entirely eliminate the concern: “What do I do when there is no sun in the sky?” That key factor rules over all else and allows for total and seamless integration of utilizing direct sun ray heat (sf1)and stored solar fuel heat in existing bio fuels (sf2).

The SORRG 50 power plant is designed to generate 50 kilowatts per hour continous. It weights about 60 kilograms, is 1.1 meter tall, has 35cm x 35cm footprint,and has multiple source ports: direct sun access generated heat (sf1) and stored fuel generated heat (sf2). SORRG 50 comes standard with its own server, and a 70 horse power detachable electric motor.
